Drill Down > Custom
Add your own drill down actions to dashboard elements
Custom drill downs let you define what happens when someone clicks a data point on a dashboard element. Open another dashboard, swap in a Saved Query, or jump to an external link—with values from the clicked row passed along.
Once saved, a custom drill down appears by name in the drill down menu of that element for everyone viewing the dashboard.
Adding a Custom Drill Down
1: Click a Data Point
Click any data point on a dashboard element and select + Drill down from the menu.
This opens the Add drill down modal.
2: Choose a Drill Down Type
Select one of the three drill down types:
Open another dashboard in a popup or filter the current dashboard using the clicked row's data.
Show a Saved Query in the dashboard item, scoped to the clicked row.
Open a link in a new tab with values from the clicked row.
3: Configure and Save
Each type has its own configuration—covered in the pages above. After you click Save, the drill down is ready to use: click a data point on the element and select it by name from the menu.
