Share Dashboard using Public URL

This guide explains how to create Public URLs for dashboards in Draxlr, allowing you to securely share dashboards with external users.

Create a Public URL for a Dashboard

Public URLs let you share dashboards without requiring viewers to log in. Each Public URL is protected with a 6 digit PIN for secure access.

Here is an interactive demo:

1: Open Share Dashboard

Navigate to the dashboard you want to share and click the Share Dashboard button in the top right corner.

This opens the Public URL configuration modal.

2: Enter a Name for the Public URL

Provide a clear and descriptive name for your Public URL.

This name helps you identify the purpose of the shared dashboard later.

3: Apply Filters (Optional)

You can pre apply dashboard filters while creating the Public URL.

These filters will be applied by default when someone opens the Public URL.

4: Control Filter Visibility

You can choose whether viewers can modify the filters.

  • Show Filter enabled: Viewers can change filter values.
  • Show Filter disabled: Filters are hidden and locked. Viewers cannot modify them.

This is useful when sharing fixed reports.

5: Create the Public URL

Click the Create button to generate the Public URL.

Draxlr will instantly create a secure shareable link for the dashboard.

6: Share the Public URL

Your Public URL is now ready to use.

You can:

  • Copy the URL
  • Share it via email, chat, or documentation

7: Secure Access with PIN

Each Public URL is protected with a 6 digit PIN.

  • Viewers must enter the PIN to access the dashboard
  • You can also append the PIN directly to the URL to auto unlock access like ?pin=<your pin>. Replace your pin with the PIN from Dashboard.

This ensures dashboards remain secure even when shared publicly.

Summary

  • Create secure, shareable dashboard links
  • Optionally apply and lock filters
  • Control viewer interaction
  • Protect access with a 6 digit PIN
