Creating a Standard Dashboard Filter

Standard Dashboard Filters allow you to filter dashboard items by column values in their tables. They are compatible with all query types (whether built using the Query Builder or Raw SQL).

How to create a Standard Dashboard Filter?

1. Add a Filter

Click on the “Add Filter” button at the top of your dashboard.

2. Select Standard Dashboard Filter

From the filter options, choose “Standard Dashboard Filter.”

3. Enter a Filter Name

Give your filter a descriptive name (e.g., Order Date).

4. Select Data Type

Choose the Data Type for your filter (Text, Numeric, Boolean, Date & Time, Date, Time).

The available fields in dashboard elements will be based on this data type.

5. Select Table & Field

Choose the Table and Field from your database where the filter should be applied.

6. Map Filter Across Dashboard Elements

For each dashboard element, select the relevant field that the filter should apply to.

7. Create the Filter

Once you’ve set up the filter mappings, click “Create” to finish.

8. Apply the Filter

Your new filter (e.g., Order Date) will appear on the dashboard. Click it to apply.

9. Select Filter Value

Choose a value for the filter (e.g., Today, Previous 7 days, Custom dates).

10. View Filtered Results

The filter will now be applied across all mapped dashboard elements.
Your dashboard will instantly update to show the filtered results.
